Thunderfoot and the Accelerators at Bynum Front Porch 7-8:30!

  • Bynum Front Porch 950 Bynum Road Bynum, NC 27228 United States (map)

Tommy Thunderfoot & The Accelerators is an established three-piece blues/rock-based band of over 15 years based in the Triangle East area. They bring high energy to their shows!

This terrific group is based in the Clayton/Raleigh area and performs a mix of blues classics, Southern rock, jam-oriented music, and original songs. They describe their style as "blues," "southern fried jam," and original music.

Tommy Thunderfoot's stage name reportedly came from his habit of stomping his foot while performing. According to his biography, he began playing guitar in 1981 and was heavily influenced by the blues lineage that includes Stevie Ray Vaughan and the artists who inspired Vaughan.

As a live act, they have played festivals and venues across the Southeast and continue to appear at regional events--we're thrilled to have them perform as part of Bynum Front Porch's 25th season of weekly summer music!

The Bynum Front Porch Summer Music Series happens on warm summer evenings from 7:00–8:30 PM out at the old Bynum General Store. The shows are free, though we do pass the hat to help take care of the musicians who share their songs with us. There’s always a food truck parked outside, and the whole thing feels less like a concert and more like neighbors gathering. Kids running around barefoot, folks leaning back in lawn chairs, and the sound of music drifting out across the Haw River valley.

Bring a chair if you like, or use one of ours, we’ve got plenty. Parking is free and easy in the field next door or down at the Bynum ball field. Just a couple simple house rules: no alcohol and no pets, please. Come on out, grab some supper, settle in, and enjoy a sweet summer evening with the community.

Come rock with us.
