Tickets to the events are not needed but a hat is passed to compensate the performers and a $3 to $7 donation is requested. The music takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is open to the public and features a variety of bands spanning multiple musical genres including gospel, folk, blues, rockabilly and bluegrass.

Every Friday during the Bynum Front Porch Music Series, children can enjoy fun arts and crafts activities, storytelling, children’s music, etc. from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm inside the General Store.

During the Bynum Front Porch Music Series, two artists will exhibit their work in the Bynum General Store each Friday night as part of the first ever Bynum Art Series. Artwork will include paintings, drawings, photography, fiber art, sculptures and digital pieces.

The Bynum Front Porch Pickin' and Potluck takes place every second and fourth Saturday each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The picking is a bluegrass jam session open to musicians and singers of all skill levels and ages. Acoustic instruments only, please! Enjoy fun music and food and don't forget to bring a dish!

From time to time, Bynum Front Porch will host various house concerts in the store featuring different styles and types of music. The house concerts usually range between and $5 and $10 with musicians playing for two hours from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Open Store Time

On the first and third Saturday each month, the store will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you're headed to the Haw for some hiking or canoeing, feel free to stop in for a drink or you can just stop in, say hi and check out the store.

This annual fundraiser involves a night of legal gambling for a good cause. Attendees will also enjoy a tasty buffet, raffled prizes and live entertainment. Money raised will benefit the Bynum Front Porch Scholarship Fund for Chatham County High School seniors.

Each year, Bynum Front Porch will sell fresh North Carolina Fraser Fir Christmas trees, wreaths and garland. Pre-orders are made throughout November until December 1. The farmer will only cut trees that are ordered a week prior to delivery to ensure the freshest tree possible.

A deposit is required with the balance paid upon pick up. All proceeds from the tree sale directly benefit the Bynum Front Porch Scholarship Fund.

The Bynum General Store is available for community use for events such as meetings, birthday, anniversaries or other parties, etc. Please keep the following in mind as you request use of the store:

• Alcohol is not allowed in the store or on the property
• Events should not begin before 9am and must be finished before 9pm
• You are responsible for cleaning up after your event and for any damage that may occur
• The store is free to use for Bynum residents. Nearby community members wishing to use the store will be charged a $50 rental fee.
