Swift Creek’s highly original songs feature strong traditional and progressive bluegrass influences, a touch of country and a healthy dose of folk. (The band formed six years ago in Central NC near the aptly named, Swift Creek!) Three-part harmony singing is the band’s signature, supported by guitar and bass rhythms - punctuated with impressive mandolin, fiddle and banjo.
Kevin Brown strong tenor lead, rhythm guitar and songwriting frame the band’s sound. Casey Elder, expertly plays the mandolin and dobro. Award-winning fiddler Stephen Fraleigh, also plays the banjo. Bassist Dennis Hoyle sets the beat. While vocalist Ann Searcy delivers bluesy leads and harmonies. They have 2 CD’s, “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” and recently released “Magnolia.” They are playing at Merlefest 2017 and have played 3 years at IBMA World Of Bluegrass in Raleigh.
